On the afternoon of September 17, the seminar on "The Impact of the Covid-19 Epidemic on the Operation and Fulfillment of Social Responsibility of Overseas Chinese Textile and Garment Enterprises" was officially held in Keqiao, Zhejiang. The meeting focused on the difficulties encountered by enterprises in the process of overseas investment and overseas business during the COVID-19 epidemic, aiming to help "going out" textile and garment enterprises to find more effective solutions under the challenge of the epidemic.
The meeting was opened by Tan Ke, Bureau of Commerce of Keqiao District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, with an opening speech, and gave an overall overview of the operation of local "going out" textile and garment enterprises in Keqiao during the epidemic. Dr. Liang Xiaohui, chief researcher of the Social Responsibility Office of China National Textile and Apparel Council, presided over and introduced the basic background of this research project in detail. In the research discovery and sharing session, Ms. Zheng Jian, the international project director of the Social Responsibility Office of China National Textile and Apparel Council, made a comprehensive report on the results of the preliminary research work. Subsequently, representatives of 14 textile and garment enterprises involved in overseas investment and international trade took the initiative to share and exchange the status quo and outstanding problems of their enterprises during the operation of the epidemic under the background of the Covid-19, and put forward the most urgent needs currently facing With recommendations, the focus involves four areas: international relations, public health services, logistics, and economic and financial risks. The challenges and demands encountered by enterprises in overseas operations and international trade were discussed and exchanged vigorously, and possible solutions were also proposed by all parties at the meeting. At the meeting, Ms. Alexander Bahns, the representative of the German International Cooperation Agency, the project partner, also introduced the GIZ organization's development of sustainable cooperation projects in the textile and garment industry, and communicated with enterprises on issues related to cross-cultural capacity building and sustainable development.
This conference is the second series of seminars in the Yangtze River Delta region of the project "The Impact of the Covid-19 Epidemic on the Operation and Fulfillment of Social Responsibility of Overseas Chinese Textile and Garment Enterprises". The first seminar was successfully held in Rugao City, Jiangsu Province on July 23.
