To further accelerate the construction of the textile modernization industry system, link the textile intangible cultural heritage project resources, give full play to the advantages of the industry platform, promote production by culture, build momentum by show, promote sales by exhibition, cross-border integration, and explore the new mode of inheritance and development of textile intangible cultural heritage in Chinese path to modernization from a new perspective, the seventh China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Conference was held in Beijing on December 22.
With the theme of "high-quality development of textile intangible cultural heritage in the process of Chinese path to modernization," more than 300 people attended the event, including leaders and guests from relevant ministries and commissions of the country, competent departments of industry, information technology, culture and tourism in various provinces and cities, leaders and guests from the China National Textile and Apparel Council and its member units, local textile and clothing associations, and other industrial organizations, as well as ambassadors for the promotion of China textile intangible cultural heritage, new youth of China textile intangible cultural heritage, inheritors of textile intangible cultural heritage projects, well-known clothing designers, universities and research institutes, outstanding textile enterprises, well-known cultural and creative enterprises, and representatives of major e-commerce platforms.
The China National Textile and Apparel Council, the Administrative Office of Xing'an League in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and Beijing Fashion Holdings Co., Ltd hosted this meeting. It was undertaken by the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office of the China National Textile and Apparel Council and Beijing Fashion Week Co., Ltd. It was co-organized by the Cultural Tourism and Sports Bureau of Xing'an League in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the People's Government of Keyou Middle Banner in Xing'an League in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The morning meeting was chaired by Duan Xiaoping, Vice President of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, and the afternoon meeting was chaired by Sun Huaibin, former Vice President and General Planner of the China National Textile and Apparel Council.

The national poverty alleviation model, Chinese textile intangible cultural heritage promotion ambassador Bai Jingying, senior media figure and media entrepreneur, Yang Lan, Chairman of Sunshine Media Group, Vice Dean, Professor, and doctoral supervisor Fang Xiaofeng of Tsinghua University School of Fine Arts gave keynote speeches on their respective directions.
Sun Huaibin's "2022/2023 China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Development Report" was released. He elaborated on the distinctive cultural activities, related measures, and dynamics of textile intangible cultural heritage in various regions this year. In 2023, China's intangible cultural heritage industry is flourishing, and the government’s continuous encouragement and support of traditional culture has become a strong support force for the industry. The industry’s market size continues to expand, and the market space content continues to enrich. The future development prospects are broad. At the meeting, various enterprises reached multiple collaborations.
In addition, during the conference, the attending representatives also collectively visited China's nonheritage cities and the China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition, experiencing the flash sale of textile intangible cultural heritage products and the experience of plant dyeing and handicrafts on site and experiencing the charm of intangible cultural heritage culture firsthand. At the China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Promotion Ambassador Work Symposium held during this period, representatives gathered their ideas on cultural innovation and promotion of intangible cultural heritage. They visited the Ethnic Costume Museum of Beijing Institute of Fashion after the conference.
